Bike to School Day

May 15 is Bike to Work day. Since we at College Prep do our work at school, let's have this apply to us, too!

This year, many of us are getting together to help encourage folks to bike to school. There will be a big table of yummy food and drink waiting for those who ride, walk, and BART, provided by the APES class, and all students who participate will receive a raffle ticket that will make them eligible for a BIG prize package (details coming soon!).Bikers, a long way from school.

There are many benefits, both personal and global, that accrue to those who bike to work. It's invigorating, inexpensive, and fun. One hurdle we must all overcome, though, is finding a safe route to school. Below, you'll see a map from the East Bay Bike Coalition, designed to help you find, and take advantage of, the East Bay's many bike paths and boulevards. After that, you'll see links to routes charted by College Prep community members, using the tools at veloroutes.org . If you have a favorite way that you come to school by bike, come see me and I'll help you post that route on this page.
