ABS30-minute class devoted to core strength, specifically the abdominals but  stretching is also emphasized (gym lobby)
Aerobics
Rigorous cardio workout with emphasis on movement, also incorporates the use of weights (gym)
Badminton
Recreational activity with an emphasis on playing and having fun rather than drills, lessons, or instruction (gym)
Cardio-WeightsClass combines aerobic conditioning (stationary bike, eliptical) and moves to activities involving varying types of weights and resistance (weight room)
ConditioningRigorous and demanding class focused on the off-season athlete or the well-conditioned and experienced Health, Fitness & Recreation student (weight room)
FencingLow intensity, highly instructional class where precision, footwork, and hand/eye coordination is emphasized (gym)
Indoor Rockclimbing
Strength intensive, must be somewhat fearless or no fear of height, indoor rock climbing wall at Berkeley Ironworks, involves a fee (contact Tran)
Introduction to Martial Arts
Active, physically demanding class involving tumbling, punching, kicking, throwing, and the use of a staff or sword, stretching is also emphasize (gym)
Kickball
Classic children's game similar to baseball where a rubber ball is kicked and involves running around bases (gym)
Medicine Ball
Strength based workout using medicine balls; fairly rigorous (gym)
Q & A Session
Discussion based, no physical activity, information on some health, fitness, or recreation related topic (gym lobby)
Shopping Bootcamp
It's a stretch but we'll find a way to incorporate exercise into this activity, lug those heavy shopping bags and hike the hills of the mecca of shopping, San Francisco, bring money for BART and shopping (Rockridge bart)
Soccer
Class is adapted to the drop-in participants' ability, can be mostly instructional to little or none where emphasis is playing (gym)
Temescal Bootcamp
Fairly aerobic, strength and cardio based exercises done in the great outdoors at Lake Temescal (gym lobby)
Trips
Usually on weekends or after school, trips are usually outdoor focused and activities include:  indoor rockclimbing, hiking, fun runs, and kayaking [for a list of trip dates and descriptions, click on the "Upcoming Trips" link at left]
Trainer
An alternate instructor is available to supervise you in some activity of your choosing other than the scheduled class for that specific period (athletics office)
Urban Hike
fast-paced walk using the surrounding  terrain near campus (gym lobby)
Yoga
Through a series of poses and breathing exercises, flexibility and strength are emphasized along with relaxation techniques (gym lobby)
