Duane McNeil, Head Coach:   Coach Duane McNeil is entering his 9th season as the Head Coach for the Cougars.  Over the past four years the Cougars have finished no lower than 2nd place in the BCL East and earned four births to North Coast Section play-offs.   During his time Coach McNeil has had the pleasure of coaching 7 players that continued playing in college.  The Cougars currently have players playing at Carlton College and Swarthmore College.

Last year the team finished with 17 wins (school record), won the Rincon Valley Christian Tournament and earned a 5th place seed in NCS play-offs.  The 2008 squad is training hard and looking to improve on last years successful season.

Coach Duane McNeil is proud to offer a strong baseball program that teaches the fundamental skills and the correct way to play the game.  One of the strengths of our program is the effort and commitment the players and coaches put towards the team.  Our team works hard and enjoys competing at games and practices.

Coach McNeil graduated with a BA in Communication Studies from San Jose State.  Coach McNeil enjoyed two seasons pitching at Ohlone College.  His highlights are playing against Stanford and winning the Coast Conference Championship.   Currently, Coach McNeil plays for the East Bay Express an adult travel team with his assistant Josh Silva.

Coach McNeil is also the assistant athletic director and assistant Boys Varsity Basketball coach.
Josh Silva
Josh Silva, Assistant Coach:    This will be my 4th year as a Varsity
Infield coach, and 2nd year with the Cougars.

I grew up in San Leandro,  played Little League in the Washington
Manor, before becoming a San Leandro High Pirate. I was baseball team
captain Junior and Senior season as a shortstop/second basemen.

I graduated college with a BS in Health Science(minor in Marketing)
and played two years of baseball at Cal State Hayward(East Bay).  I
was a walk on, and I played mostly 2nd and 3rd base.  My 2nd year at
Cal State we were ranked 16th in the nation for D3, and fell one game
shy of the D3 college world series.

Favorite highlight of college was hitting a walkoff 2 run homer in
the bottom of the 12th in my first at bat.  Currently, I play in a 25
y/o and over hardball league with Duane, where I  am a shortstop and
occasionally a 2nd basemen.

I worked at Velocity Sports Performance in Dublin for a year and a
half, and apply many of the principles I learned there to help the
Cougars.

In 2008, our season ends May 31.  NCS championship is the GOAL!
