Boys Soccer Defeats Athenian 3 to 2

he CPS Boy's varsity soccer defeated Athenian 3-2 in the opening BCL-East league game yesterday. Freshman sensation Julian M. scored the first goal ten minutes in the first half, and was assisted by Daniel O. The second half started with the Cougars more on the offensive side, but due to lack of concentration the Athenian team scored in the 43rd minute that tied the game at 1-1. But in the 53rd minute, Freshamn sensation Julian. M scored the second goal off a through pass from Colby A., and the Cougars were up 2-1. In the 59th minute the Athenian team scored and the game was tied 2-2. At this juncture, the Athenian team was mounting serious attack but the Cougars stood their grounds and matched Athenian offensive pressures, and in the 64th minute, Brandon S. collected a pass from his teammates, took a few dribble by attacking space in front of him and took a hard shot that went through the Athenian's goalkeeper's legs and into the goal, and the CPS Cougars were up 3-2. Both keepers had a very busy day.
