Varsity Soccer ties Lick-Wilmerding

College Prep played Lick-Wilmerding last Wednesday in a pre-season varsity soccer game.  The first twenty minutes were dominated by Lick and the condition of the field was manageable.  Despite the series of mass attacks by Lick the College Prep Cougars held their ground.  Both teams had their scoring chances but could not put the ball in the net.  Keeper C. Herzberg-Brovold had seven saves in the first half, while the Lick keeper had 6 saves.  In the second half, C. Herzberg-Brovold had eight saves compared to 3 saves by the Lick keeper.  Offensively Lick controlled the second half, forcing the Cougars to add another midfield position to secure its defense.  The game end in a 0 - 0 tie.  The Cougars next game is Tuesday, Sept. 9 vs. Athenian at Tom Bates Field.  - Godwin Odiye
