Softball Defeat CSD in first round of NCS
FINAL SCORE: (CPS) 13 - (CSD) 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOO.
This game was SOOOOOO epic/owning/glorious/nice/sweet/great.
Not only did we beat CSD, we SLAUGHTER RULED THEM in 5 innings. We were all so juiced, especially Joanna. Plus we were pumped because Joanna's sister Amelia came and was an awesome first base coach in Coach Bill's absence. We were also really excited by the the hecka tight signs (made by Beth Goldberg) that were further improved by our very own teen boy squad!! - Kevin K, Nick, Whit and Charlie. Oh also, Berean, who plays up in Class A at NCS (we're in class B), got slaughter ruled in the 5th inning on the field next to us. Sooo according to certain people's (fuzzy?) logic, we are now better than Berean! I mean, it kinda sorta works. This was also the first NCS victory for many of us, in any sport, and we are happy.
But what's crazy is that now because we won today, we're about to jump in the vans at 8 tonight to drive to our next NCS game. We're playing against Hoopa, which is in a small town on a mountain at the very top of California where it gets oddly cold... like Antarctica? So basically we have an hour to wash our socks, do some history homework, and prepare for the the greatest dance party in a cps van EVER, though it will be hard to beat our van ride from last year (highlights included a dance off at a gas station You Got Served style and Allie Brown's ridiculous dancing in locations I can't mention). But ok. Back to the game!
Highlights:
Alejandra had a beautiful TRIPLE.
Haley G. hit a solid line drive up the middle for a perfect hit early in the game. She also teamed up with Zoe, who played catcher, to get two girls out at 2nd... like Haley basically got the ball while the girls were halfway between 1st and 2nd, it was very exciting.
Barbara crushed the ball sooooo far, but the girl was already really scared of her insane batting skills so she was playing like 30 feet back and she caught it. But whatevs, Barbs hit a double later.
Joanna's pitching was "bewildering" in a good way, but a couple calls from the ump recieved a skeptical look and the "question mark" sign from the crowd. (I mean they actually wrote question marks on the signs.)
Haley Ryerson got on base a couple times and scored, she's hella good at bat!
Coach Stephanie used her lightning reflexes to snatch a ball that had gone foul, which was incredible and everyone clapped.
OK I HAVE TO GO PACK!
Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooppppppppppppaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
