Softball vs. Urban

Hi school!
So this year your softball team is going through a few transitions, the biggest being the loss of the great Joanna Schimmel as she unfortunately was forced to graduate. This is no way means that we won't have another awesome year - but it does make it harder, considering that we just don't have anyone on the team who has trained to be a pitcher for much of her life...
and this leads us to the summary of our scrimmage today, which took place against Urban somewhere past Daly City, to which we had to travel practically across the universe. Here are some pieces of goodness: Zoe pitched her first full game EVER, striking out at least two girls, and fielding every scary ball hit at her like a pro.  Lisa lay it down at catcher, a very, very tiring job, and got sort-of-semi-ish attacked by a little yappy dog. Haley Ryerson had an amaaaazing catch in center field that caused my heart to jump almost to my nose.  Erica and Kanti, the little freshmans, played their first CPS softball games ever!! And Kanti, the only person on our team who has no previous softball experience, got on base every single time at bat, and scored twice! Helen had a beautiful play at third where she tagged this girl out who thought she was really tricksy and kinda hax. Haley Gaaandsey had a nice bunt and had a fieeeerrce (pronounced project runway style) slide into home that should have been called safe.  And back to Zoe - she had two crazyyyyyy hits that each drove in three runs and were probably the most exciting thing to ever happen in the mountains of wherever we were.
So basically, if Zoe's younger sister Sadie who is apparently a ballllin' professionally trained pitcher (jk) were just one year older, we would have/should have beat Urban - probably with a score of CPS: 6 - Urban: 5 ... but unfortunately, Sadie is still goofing around on the recess playground at Windrush, so we ended up losing to Urban.  Also, if it were opposite day, we would be saying that we won and that Haley G. is really bad looking.
We have another game tomorrow against a team we've never played before, so look forward to an exciting update!
