The morning of Friday, April 25th:
Your College Prep swim team rose earlier then usual and gazed into the mirror. Each one of them had a vision and after carefully studying the makeup of David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust, these glame rockers raised a pencil to their eye. After dancing through the school day your band of Rockers cruised out to San Francisco, for a meet agaisnt the Tigers of Lick-Wilmerding. Upon their arrival, the swimmers washed the lightning bolts and stars off of their faces and prepared for a solid day of swimming.
Lick's pool is in doors which provided a new challenge for your swimmers. Many of them found that the air above the water had a different consistensy than ours, others even remarked that as they flip-turned they were struck by a crayon-like sensation. In anycase all of us gained valuable swim experience throughout this meet, as it threw an unfamiliar race situation into our path.
Several Meet Highlights:
-Girls 200 Medley took 1st and 2nd (Julie, Jenny, Sara, Sterling; Chelsea, Sophie, Alice, Emily)
-Sara swam a 1:10.81 100 Butterfly!
-Grant swam his 1st 500 free race of the season
-The girls' and boys' 400 Free relays duked it out in the same heat.
The final scores:
The boys lost this meet 102 to 46. The girls won the meet 107 to 60. All swam valiantly and did College prep proud.
