Var. Volleyball defeats rival Head Royce

Anyways.... we had a freaking EPIC game against Head-Royce this Friday night. We were missing our beloved Mattie upon the court as she had decided to roll her ankle yesterday (jk it was an accident and a very sad/painful one), but she valiantly jumped around on one foot and yelled at us from the sideline while also helping with stats. Our always present and positive Eva was there as well, keeping an eagle eye as she recorded our stats. We love you Eva! (Now please give me a few extra kills next time! *wink**wink*).

Julie, Julia and Emc were epic back row passers with tons and tons of beautiful passes between them. Also rotated in for back row were Nairi, Hilary (with some great serves), Alice, and Tati. So three cheers for them! : D Tessa had some shining moments as an outside hitter and was a great positive influence on the court. Julia was also a dependable outside hitter as was Chloe. Chloe had some hits that I didn't even know the source of they were so epic. She was like a dude in "Angels in the Outfield" except with volleyball and she's a girl she was such a beast. Also, she proved to me that she IS smarter than a 5th grader, so give her a pat on the back for that. : D Dorthey was a FANTASTIC setter. Whatever she may tell you, her very few and far between mistakes mean nothing in the face of her determination and steadiness under all of the pressure. I don't know how that girl can walk the next day she puts in sooo much effort! Juliana was in total beast mode front row. She ran those ones fearlessly in the face of Head-Royce's THREE blockers. She also got hit in the face w/ a free ball pass, so props to her for not retaliating and completely eliminating that girl from the court. Good sportsmanship! It's so much better to kill them all with deadly swiftness. I also had a pretty strong game, although I did not get to block number 2, their number one back row hitter. Well I did block her, but it wasn't a full-on block. Which made me very sad, but that's ok cuz I will get next time.


THANKS SO MUCH TO THE CROWD!!!!!! you guys were sooo awesome. Especially to Colby for putting on the Cougar suit and sweating even more than we were. That was awesome and we will find a way to pay you back...maybe.

Maddie - great stats (and loving support: D)
Dot:  3 aces 35 assists 2 digs
Julianna:  12 kills 5 blocks
Emily Chen:  3 aces1 kill and 10 digs
Chloe - steady and ready in a new spot! Great D fence 1 ace, 4 kills 2 blocks and 3 digs
Brianna - star of the show - 2 aces - 13 kills - 5 blocks 3 digs (we ALL played AWESOMELY and had shining moments)
Julia - great service receive passing 2 aces - 4 kills- 14 digs
Julie  - great service receive passing 2aces - 4 assists - 4 digs
Nairi - step in for service receive and D
Tessa - a smile a block a kill (and an awesome attempted save!!! [She got it up but we lost it :(])
Hilary - tough serves
Alice - 4 digs and spunk
Tati - saved us in a tough service receive position

I would also like to add that these stats don't include stuff like hitting but no kills, which can get us just as many points since they screwed up on setting a lot and that some people's stats may be higher since it was moving so fast and we were all so perfect it's hard to catch every little move we all make. :D  - B.
