The Partners Program
The Partners Program was established in 1986. This is an ongoing program that includes monthly classes and summer school at CPS. Students from junior high schools around Oakland commit to Partners for three summers. After the third summer, students will graduate.
Each year there are 7th graders, and new TAs. The classes offered to the students are English, Math, Science, History, Art, Drama, and music and yearbook for the ninth graders. There is also an advisory period, when students have time to do homework with the help TAs and several of their classmates. There are about fifteen students in each class, and there are at least usually twenty TAs.
