All-school reading for 2008-2009

Here you will find resources related to the book we have chosen for our all-school reading, a project designed to unite the entire College Prep community in a year-long acquaintance with a culture beyond our borders, one which is of current importance in world affairs. The entire student body, faculty, and staff will be reading the same book.

The all school book for 2008-2009 will be Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortensen.

Mortensen's misadventures trying to ascend K2, the world's second-highest peak, lead him to a remote village in northern Pakistan where he begins an extraordinary decade-long relationship with his rescuers. To repay their kindness, Mortensen commits to helping the local people build schools for young girls – a promise which proves to be as challenging as climbing the Himalayas. This is an exciting and inspiring book about how one person can work with a community to make a difference.

Use this publication information to find or order the book from your favorite bookseller:
