Freshmen Retreat

Hula-hoop games Team coordination is key here Roasting marshmallows around the campfire

The goal of the freshmen retreat is to get to know one another, adjust to CPS and have some fun.

We (ninth graders, their senior advisors and some faculty) leave CPS between 2:30 and 3:00 PM on a Thursday afternoon for the Headlands campus of the Yosemite Institute which is located in the Golden Gate National recreation Area, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Students don't need to bring much equipment for this informal overnight event. Games designed to help get to know one another are the focus of the retreat.
