Head of School Search

Murray Cohen, Head of College Prep for the past 11 years, has announced that he will be retiring June 2011. For over thirty years, first as a member of the faculty, then as an administrator and finally as Head of School, Murray has devoted his time, wisdom, heart and soul to College Prep. Throughout, Murray has personified our motto: “mens conscia recti” (a mind aware of what is right).

College Prep has created this webpage to keep members of our school community informed of the Head Search Committee’s progress as we begin the challenging yet forward-thinking task of finding the next Head of School. Candidate Visits Start This Week - Community Drop-in Dates Announced

As our Head of School Search shifts into high gear, we wanted to give you a brief update on our progress. Starting this week and over the next four weeks, our five finalist candidates will be visiting the College Prep Campus. The candidates will be touring our campus, enjoying a class or two, and meeting with faculty, staff, students, parents, trustees, and alumni.

We have also set aside a community drop in time for each candidate. These are from 7:30-8:30am on the following days: 9/28, 10/6, 10/12*, 10/15*, and 10/19* (* tentative). Please contact one of search committee co-chairs if you would like to know more about the candidate visiting on a particular day.

As always, please contact any of the the Search Committee co-chairs or committee members if you have any questions, thoughts, or suggestions.

End of Summer Update

As the summer winds to a close and the campus ramps up for fall semester, we wanted to give everyone a brief update on our progress. At the end of August, our RG175 Head of School search consultants, Clay Stites and Roger J. Bass, presented an impressive pool of exceptional candidates to the Search Committee.
