Our students
The reputation of College Prep for high standards of scholarship and character attracts particularly talented students every year. There are currently 331 students enrolled; 39% of these are students of color. CPS is a regional school, drawing students from communities throughout the Bay Area. The student body reflects broad racial, ethnic, and economic diversity, as well as diversity of interests and talents.

TEST SCORES
The mean SAT scores (on a scale of 200-800) for the Class of 2005 were 724 verbal and 713 mathematical. The most recent national averages were 508 verbal and 518 mathematical. In 2004-2005, 141 students took 253 Advance Placement exams in 16 different subjects with 98% of the scores 3 or higher.
NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP RECOGNITION
The National Merit competition awards special recognition to approximately 5% of college-bound seriors nationwide. Sixty-three percent (63%) of our students in the Class of 2005 were either Semi-finalist (31 students) or Commended (21 students).
