- The College Preparatory School Celebrates the Installation of Bronze Sculpture by World-Renowned Artist, Bruce Beasley
- National Merit Scholarship Program Honors CPS Students
- A total of 16 members of the class of 2006 have been named Commended Students and 21 current seniors have been honored as Semifinalists in the 2006 Scholarship Competition.

- On Friday November 11, 60 CPS stuCPS French Students get rare opportunity to see Senegalese superstar - Join the CPS French class at Zellerbach on November 11, 2005 .Students who are currently studying French will attend a concert at Zellerbach Hall given by Youssou N'Dour, a Senegalese superstar and amazing performer.

- The CPS Film Club presented a free community screening of the award-winning film OSAMA followed by post-film discussion with special guests.
- CPS French Students invited by SF Film Society Education Program in conjunction with the Consulate General of France to view "Sequins"

- CPS senior receives 1st place in Youth Division at Alameda Film Festival
- CPS senior, Alan R., submits short film to Alameda Film Festival. Alan created 'Infrared', a short film about three young men starring himself, his younger brother and friend Gerard C. His film was screened as part of 162 short and feature length films showed at the Alameda International Film Festival. Alan was awarded first place in the Youth Division at the Alameda International Firm Festival Awards Ceremony on November 11, 2005.

- CPS students: Omari B., Sam D., Juia G., Shikar D. & Pierce S. will volunteer at the Sisters of Fire Celebration as part of their ongoing commitment to community service.
- San Francisco Opera Guild performs at CPS.
- November 1, 2005, three distinguished performers from The San Francisco Opera Guild will perform for CPS students. The show will include excerpts from the beloved comic opera by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, The Pirates of Penzance.
- Three CPS Seniors recognized by The National Hispanic Recognition Program
- Teresa C, Jessica E. and Julia G. have been honored by the National Hispanic Recognition Program
- CPS Alumni Awarded NetAid honor
- CPS alumni, Katharine Kendrick and Annalise Blum, Awarded NetAid honor for Raising Awareness of Genocide in Sudan. The College Preparatory School announced that recent alumnae, Katharine Kendrick and Annalise Blum, have accepted the distinguished NetAid Global Action Award. NetAid is an organization dedicated to the eradication of global poverty through youth action. For their dedication to raising awareness about the genocide in Sudan, each alumna will receive $5,000 and will be invited NYC for an awards dinner on November 9, 2005.

- CPS Junior makes strides on Golf Course
- Mia K. has a full plate this Fall. As well as the demands of her academic life at CPS, she is taking great strides as a talented amateur golfer.

- Rob Watson '95 performed a part of his classical guitar master's recital for current CPS students at a a very well-attended lunch concert in October.

- CPS Students are busy preparing for their most satisfying time of the holidays, their adopt-a-family program. Each class and the faculty is assigned 2-3 local families in need and asked to collect donations of clothing, toys, toiletries and money for 'their' family.

- Mia was named Player of the Year for her success on the golf course.

- Inspired by the best selling book, The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, CPS students focus on Afghanistan. CPS students immerse themselves in classroom debates, Afghan dance, film screenings, multicultural day and kite flying to delve deep into the traditions and challenges of modern-day Afghanistan

- CPS Junior, Katherine C. has been Awarded Oakland Rotary Club Student Exchange Program to Travel to Japan.
- CPS Hosts Policy Debate Competition.
- On February 16 and 17, 2006 The College Preparatory School hosted the Fifth Annual California Round Robin for policy debate. Twelve of the top high school debate teams in the nation competed against each other for the opportunity to debate before a panel of experts in the subject of this year’s high school policy debate competition.
