CPS senior wins first place in Japanese Speech Contest

The Consulate General of Japan and the Japanese American Association of Northern California (Hokka Nichi Bei Kai) held the 32nd Annual Japanese Speech Contest at the Consulate's Japan Information Center on Sunday, November 13th, 2005. The contestants were divided into two categories: contestants coming from homes where Japanese is spoken and contestants coming from homes where Japanese is not spoken. The top winners received certificates and awards. Of the contestants who came from homes where Japanese is not spoken, Lauren B. received the first prize for her piece The Magic of Spaciousness.
