CPS students volunteer at Sisters of Fire Celebration

CPS students: Omari B., Sam D., Juia G., Shikar D. & Pierce S. will volunteer at the Sisters of Fire Celebration as part of their ongoing commitment to community service.

Women of Color Resource Center will honor 4 extraordinary women, including activists Angela Davis, Suheir Hammad, Teresa Mejia, and Beckie Masaki at the 7th Annual Sisters of Fire Awards on Sunday, October 30, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at 300 Frank Ogawa Plaza in Oakland City Center.

There will also be a special tribute to WCRC’s predecessor organization, the Third World Women’s Alliance.  Program includes, keynote speaker Assemblywoman Karen Bass, cultural performances and brunch.
