Spanish Seminar students share their work at bilingual school
Students of the Spanish Literature and Conversation seminar shared their own illustrated, literary works with bilingual elementary school students in Oakland. The books are a welcome and colorful feature of the Spanish IV course. This year, the student authors shared their works with students at New Highland Elementary school in Oakland, and, after reading their books, they engaged the children in conversation about stories the elementary students had written and about life in the second grade. Teacher Marta Ginebreda feels, “it was really rewarding for CPS students to apply their Spanish in a practical way in the community at large”.
