Biggest difference between middle school and high school: The transition from a public school to a private school. At my middle school, the teachers expected you to do well in their classes, but they didn't emphasize the same things as they do here. There is more help here and  sports are also taken more seriously. The sense of satisfaction is far greater when you receive a good score on a major test.

Why I chose College Prep: I felt that I had potential to tackle more vigorous classes, and that I wanted to learn in a safer, more productive environment where people help each other without there being much of a social hierarchy.

Why I'm glad I chose College Prep: Two main reasons why I am grateful to attend College Prep. The first is that every class is hard. I know that if I am able to endure the long nights of studying, that what is to come in my academic life will be far easier because I have already worked so hard. The second reason is because of soccer. I have always loved soccer, and not much else. Talent-wise, I was horrible. I had no ball control or conditioning. But the coaches, Godwin and Doc, they've worked me hard. They make the team do difficult drills and lots of running. I have improved my ball control and conditioning and now I can actually make nice passes and run for much longer than before.

Favorite place on campus: Unquestionably, the top of campus. There is a nice breeze, warm sunlight, the soothing trickle of water running over the pebbles, and the perfect view of the rest of campus. In my opinion, it is the most heavenly spot around.

Campus involvement: I play soccer as well as play violin in the chamber music class. Soccer has built me up in many ways, including technique, physicality, determination, and discipline. I know that those habits will stay with me throughout my life. Music, in a way, IS my life. Any internal or external problem I have, I channel it through the bow and the string. Having music in the morning relieves me of any stress accumulated throughout the night or the day before, it is just so soothing for me.

Favorite class: Physics. Science has usually been my best class and the one I am most interested in (not that I am not interested in the other classes) and I feel a strong connection with the class. I just love it.

Favorite thing about College Prep: I really like the fact that there isn't really a social hierarchy at College Prep. There is constant mingling between freshmen and upperclassmen. Whenever someone has a problem or an issue, the upperclassmen are almost always glad to help. It makes me feel more at home and more safe.

Favorite College Prep memory:I participated in the CPS musical in the spring of 2014, and it is an experience that I will never forget. I got to meet many people who I wouldn't have spent time with otherwise, and my friendships were strengthened. I danced for the first time, and it was a very interesting and pleasant thing to try out. Overall, the musical was one of the best things I've participated in.

Favorite character from a movie/book/television series: This guy isn't really in a tv show, but he's on television a lot since he plays professional soccer. Fernando Torres is my favorite soccer star, and although he hasn't had the best of seasons lately, he is definitely a great player.

Three unusual things about myself:
  1. I am very passionate about soccer, whether playing it or watching it.
  2. I am a musician.
  3. Sora was a nickname I got in middle school and comes from my last name.
