Freshman Class Potluck

In October, freshman class reps arrange the traditional potluck dinner for freshmen, parents, faculty, and staff. Entertainment is provided by our talented and enthusiastic freshmen, and slides of the first days of school are shown. All 9th-grade parents are invited to participate.

Back to School Day

In October, CPS staff, teachers, and the sophomore class representatives organize this joint venture. Parents go through their own students’ typical academic day with 15 minute classes. Afterwards, all sophomore parents host a luncheon at school.

Graduation Ceremony

Junior class representatives organize and host a lovely outdoor reception immediately following the ceremony. This is one of our happiest events and definitely one to remember! Junior reps will contact all 11th-grade parents to help with preparations.

Open House for Prospective Parents

In November, senior class parents serve refreshments for the open houses for visiting families while our students show off their school and act as tour guides. All 12th-grade parents help with these events.

Senior and Teacher Appreciation Activities

The Senior Picnic allows parents, seniors, and teachers to take some time in their busy “college-application” schedules to enjoy each other! Throughout the school year, teachers are presented with food baskets to thank them for their efforts for the past 4 years. 12th-grade parents help where needed.

Caring Committee

The Caring Committee is a resource available to CPS families who are in need of help due to illness, loss or other serious problems. The committee will coordinate meals, errands, transportation or other services.

Community Service

Cynthia Geddes, our Community Services Director, organizes all community service activities throughout the year. Students participate as a class during specific times each year in such annual projects as Pt. Reyes trails maintenance and Habitat for Humanity. They also have opportunities throughout the year to work in homeless shelters and tutoring programs. Parents are invited to participate.

Parent Diversity Committee

The Diversity Committee works with the administration to reach out to the community in the admissions process and also to encourage diversity-related activities within the school. Meetings provide a forum for parents, faculty, administration and students to discuss the impact of diversity within the CPS community.

Periscope Newsletter

This monthly newsletter informs the CPS community about Parents’ Association activities, as well as events at school. Reporters, photographers and mailing help-ers are always welcome.

Sports at CPS

Athletics is an important part of the CPS curriculum and supporting the school’s teams is a priority of the Parents’ Association. Parents volunteer to be team parents, bring refreshments, coordinate a post-season party, or be a faithful cheerleader. Enthusiasm is all you need.

The Arts at CPS

The arts program allows students to display their individual talents in music, drama, dance and fine arts and provides wonderful entertainment for the entire school to enjoy throughout the year. All performances and exhibits are well attended. Parents provide rehearsal dinners for hungry performers, as well as staffing refreshment tables at intermission.
