Athletics Chair

The Athletics chair works with the PE department to enhance and promote athletics at CPS.  She / He:

1.    Attends monthly Parents’ Association Board meetings and provides general              report on athletic promotion in the school.

2.    Helps support the Athletic Department and coaches in finding and organizing Team Parents at the start of each sport season.               .

3.    Through the CPS Communications Director, helps to encourage and promote
placement of CPS sports’ articles in local publications like The Montclarion and the Oakland Tribune. Also helps to recruit and introduce CPS student/athlete articles in the monthly Periscope.

4.    Encourages the general involvement of both parents and students in supporting CPS teams, through working with team parents and the Athletic Department.  Team parent weekly email reminders to parents of sporting events and directions to fields is one recommendation.

5.    Reminds team parents of the need to acknowledge the seniors in final home game of the season and supports the team parents as necessary in organizing the end of the season  team parties.
