Lecture Series Chair
The lecture chair is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the CPS Lecture Series, LiveTalk. Up to three people may have board positions as chairs of this event, though one person should be the primary chair. She/he:
1. Attends monthly board meetings.
2. Checks with the President and the CPS staff to determine appropriate calendar dates for the lectures.
3. Plans, develops, publicizes and organizes volunteers for these events.
4. Writes a column or insert for the Periscope to promote these lectures. Submits information about these events to the local newspapers.
5. Is responsible for the CPS website information.
6. Develops corporate sponsorship of these events when appropriate.
7. Introduces the speakers at these events.
8. Develops outreach into the community beyond CPS to encourage knowledge of and involvement with CPS.
9. Supervises a treasurer who handles all moneys and reports to the Treasurer of the Board; checks and signs off on the budget amount available with the Treasurer of the Board and provides receipts or detailed list for reimbursements.
10. Updates materials to be passed on to the next Lecture Series Chairs.
