Oxfam Chair

The Oxfam Committee consists of two to four members who are responsible for the Oxfam lunch event. She/he:

1.    Attends monthly Parents’ Association meetings.
2.    Provides simple refreshments for the January “Back from College” presentation for the parents.
3.    Coordinates with Cynthia Geddes – Community Service Coordinator re: Oxfam Student Committee plans for the banquet (e.g. to  confirm preferred type of first world food and to get ideas for the second and third world food.
4.    Organizes small working groups for each world, writes educational and soliciting publicity (including articles for the Periscope), provides and coordinates all food and parent volunteers for the Oxfam Banquet. This includes:

•    Providing supplies necessary for serving the Banquet (purchase and check supplies at school).
•    Soliciting and coordinating all parent volunteers to set up, serve and clean up the Banquet
•    Soliciting parent donations for first world food.
•    Soliciting donations of second and  third world food from restaurants and /or have parents cook with  Cynthia and her Student committee.

5.    Checks  and sign off on the budget amount for the following year with the Treasurer of the Board and provide receipts or detailed list for reimbursements.
6.    Updates materials to be passed onto the next Oxfam Chairs
