President

The President makes a two year commitment, first as Vice-President, then as President the second year.  The President is responsible for all the activities and duties of the Board, and to ensure communication and functionality.  She/he:

1.    Writes the agendas, runs the meetings, both Executive Board and regular.

2.    Attends the Board of Trustees retreat and monthly meetings as an ex-officio member, giving reports each time.

3.    Attends and responds to as many of the CPS activities as is possible, and is the ultimate supervisor of any functions with Board representation and responsibility.

4.    Writes a monthly column in The Periscope.

5.    Acts as advisor to the Fundraising Chair and aids in major decisions for those events.

6.    Has the power to call special Board or Executive-Board meetings when the need arises.

7.    Communicates regularly with the Head of School.

8.    Is ultimately responsible to see that the Calendar is coordinated with the school calendar, and to check availability and avoid conflicts.

9.    Speaks at various school events, such as New Parent Meetings, the Freshman Potluck, the Auction/Dinner and other times as requested.

10. Coordinates and supervises the nomination of new Board members.

11. Shares information witrh the Vice-president in frequent emails, phonecalls and meetings to aid in the training of the asssumpotion of her/his responsibilities next year.

12. Acts as an ex-officio member to the board the next year after the presidency is completed, and is available for consultation and advice.
