I was raised in southern California and after finishing college I taught marine biology at the Catalina Island Marine Institute where I did a lot of scuba diving. I began my teaching at Crossroads School in Santa Monica where I met my wife, Betsy (see CPS Math Dept.). We moved to Oregon for 5 years, had our two children (both girls) and ended up back in California! Now happily ensconced at CPS, I'm learning to live with the traffic by sharing a bicycle commute with my wife!
