Student Council

Student government at College Prep is responsible for organizing student activities and representing student opinion in school-wide matters.

Activities it is responsible for include dances, other Student Council sponsored evening events, and spirit week. It also has the larger responsibility, shared with student-faculty committees, of providing the leadership necessary to further the school's goals. Often Student Council members attend faculty meetings to provide student input, and, when there are administration concerns, faculty attend Student Council meetings.

The Student Council is made up of 22 members: eight representatives (two from each class), a president, a vice-president, ten committee members, a secretary, and a treasurer. The four committees are Publicity, Spirit, Community Service, and Fundraising. All positions are elected except the offices of secretary and treasurer, which are appointed by and at the discretion of the current president and vice president.

All students are welcome to attend Student Council meetings, which take place twice a week in the Student Center.
