Fall 2020 Admissions Events

Our Admission Team is eager to get to know you this fall. While we wish we could invite you to visit our beautiful campus in person, we are thrilled to offer a wide range of virtual events that will help you get to know our school and community.
To register for these events and learn more about our application, please visit the Ravenna application portal. In addition to the events listed below, we encourage you to reach out at any point if you would like to connect with a member of the admission team. Drop-in Zoom Admissions Office Hours: Tuesdays, 9:30 - 10:30 am

Once a week the admission staff hosts Zoom office hours. If you have questions about the school, the application process, or would like to connect with us for any reason, please drop in! There is no registration for these office hours.

Open House is a great way for families to learn about the people, programs, and culture at College Prep. You will have the opportunity to hear from our Head of School, faculty, students, coaches, and administrators on a wide variety of topics.

College Prep students share their experiences with academics, clubs, arts, athletics, and more followed by a panel to answer your questions about the school. Following the event, prospective students will be contacted by a College Prep student ambassador with an invitation to connect individually.

Join our teachers and administrators for a discussion about College Prep that touches on various aspects of school life, including academics, athletics, school culture and community, equity and inclusion, and more. This group has the experience to answer almost any question about life at College Prep!

College Prep embraces the variety of backgrounds and life experiences within our community and recognizes that the expression of diversity is essential to a meaningful education.
All interested prospective applicants and their families are invited to learn about College Prep's equity and inclusion programming and school culture. Attendees will hear from student leaders, the Director of Equity and Inclusion, and current College Prep parents.

We invite interested Black, Indigenous and Latinx students and families to join us for this event. Ensuring racial justice and equity are foundational principles within the College Prep community. Current BIPOC students and families will share their experiences at College Prep. Teachers and administrators will discuss how College Prep develops and amplifies resources, systems, and programs that support a compassionate, equitable, and affirming school culture for all.

Cost is on the minds of many families who are considering independent schools. Providing access and affordability are essential to creating a socio-economically diverse educational community. This events aims to demystify the financial aid process at independent schools and provide specific strategies for completing your Parents' Financial Statement accurately. This is not intended as a series; rather, the same information will be repeated at each event. VIRTUAL STUDENT INTERVIEW
Applicants may register for interviews on Ravenna beginning in mid-October.

Each applicant meets one-on-one with a College Prep faculty or staff member for an admission interview. These 30-minute casual conversations include time with the applicant (20 minutes, required) followed by time with the family (10 minutes, optional). Interviews will take place via zoom throughout the fall and winter. Interviews are not intended to be stressful—be yourself and have fun!

ARTS DEPARTMENT INFORMATION AND PANEL
Tuesday, October 13, 4:00 pm 

Join faculty and students from all four of College Prep’s arts disciplines (dance, drama, music, and visual arts) to learn about the amazing arts at CPS. In addition to answering questions about course offerings, you’ll discover why the arts are integral to our program and meaningful to so many of our students. 

ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT INFORMATION AND PANEL
Tuesday, October 20, 4:00 pm 

Join our athletic directors, coaches, and student-athletes to learn about College Prep’s team sports as well as our unique approach to physical education. Learn about the department’s philosophy, discover how club sports fit in with school sports, and what opportunities exist for those hoping to play sports in college as well as students who want to take up a sport for the first time.

MATH & SCIENCE DEPARTMENT INFORMATION AND PANEL
Tuesday, November 10, 4:00 pm 

Join the math and science department teachers to learn about our approach to these subjects, the pathways through each program, and the opportunities both on and off campus for students interested in these fields.
 
PUBLIC & PAROCHIAL SCHOOL INFORMATION AND PANEL
Tuesday, November 17, 4:00 pm 

This event is for families whose children currently attend public or parochial schools. College Prep students who attended public and parochial middle schools will discuss their journey to independent high school, sharing their wisdom about making the transition to a different school environment. The admission staff will also be on hand to answer questions about the application process.
