Orange Tickets

College Prep students between ages 13 and 18 are eligible to buy discount BART tickets through the School, for use Monday through Friday only, for travel between home and school or school-related activities. Orange Tickets with a $32 face value cost $16 You can buy up to 4 of these discounted tickets per month, per student.

Please Note: Starting January 1, 2018, there will be a 50 cent surcharge per trip for paper tickets (this includes Orange Tickets).

BART is encouraging all riders to get a Clipper Card to avoid the surcharge. Please see details at BART.gov/tickets. Information about Youth Clipper Cards is available here.

The College Prep Parents' Association will still make the paper Orange Tickets available to our families, but NOT Clipper Cards. All BART Orange Ticket orders must be mailed to the BART ticket co-ordinator (address above). You can download and print forms by following the links below, or pick up hard copies at the school office. If you have any questions, please contact the BART co-ordinator directly.

For BART ticket orders, you will need:
  1. A completed order form
  2. A check for $16 per ticket payable to The College Preparatory School
  3. The certification form (required once each school year), signed by both the student and a parent, to certify that the student is eligible for the program and understands the rules. Please combine the first order with the certification form in one mailing
  4. The tickets will be dropped at the school office for you/your student to pick up
Orders are usually filled within a few days; however, because BART has occasionally been slow to resupply the school with tickets, it is best to plan on a two-week turnaround time, and then be pleasantly surprised if it is faster.

"Small print" limitation: Occasionally, tickets become demagnetized, or even arrive that way. If that is the case, please mail them to BART and BART will send you a refund check. For additional information, visit the BART website at bart.gov.
