Advanced Dance Class Explores Climate Change
Stefani Berger’s advanced dance class is working with guest choreographer Melecio Estrella, who is co-director of Fog Beast. Together they are creating a movement piece around the theme of climate change. Prior to rehearsal, students had an opportunity to engage in facilitated conversations with experts from the climate field, specifically about how we interact with sea level rise on practical, emotional, and spiritual levels. Stefani Berger’s advanced dance class is working with guest choreographer Melecio Estrella, who is co-director of Fog Beast. Together they are creating a movement piece around the theme of climate change. Prior to rehearsal, students had an opportunity to engage in facilitated conversations with experts from the climate field, specifically about how we interact with sea level rise on practical, emotional, and spiritual levels.
The students will perform their piece for the College Prep community. Additionally, they are invited to participate in a larger event that Fog Beast is creating in collaboration with the Headlands Center for the Arts at the Marin Headlands, focused on shoreline change and local Bay Area climate issues.
