Outings Program
College Prep’s Outings Program celebrates experiential learning and the critical role it plays in the development of our students. The Outings Program encourages our students to explore the natural wonders of California while deepening bonds of friendship, strengthening their ecological awareness, and building the cognitive, social, and emotional growth that arises from group experiences in the wilderness.
Each year there is a fall, winter, and spring outing. In 2014, the fall outing was a visit to Pt. Reyes. Students stayed at the Pt. Reyes Hostel for two nights, hiked, and worked on the Greenpicker Trail.
The winter outing is always the Senior Snow Trip. College Prep takes over the lodge at Bear Valley for games, a talent show, class bonding, and, of course, snow sports.
In 2015, the spring outing was a two-night trip to Yosemite, which included a seven-mile hike from the valley floor to Yosemite Falls.
