How to Apply

Step 2: Visit College Prep

College Prep offers a variety of programs for current prospective families. We invite current eighth grade families (and older) to events they believe will help them get to know us better. Attendance at our admission events is strongly encouraged, but not required for admission. Unless indicated otherwise, registration for our events is conducted through Ravenna.
All families are welcome to attend any other non-admission events hosted at College Prep, including arts showcases and performances and athletic games. For a list of non-admission events, please visit our school calendar.

Open Houses
Open Houses invite parents, guardians, and their teenager with an opportunity to speak to teachers, current students and parents, coaches, and administrators; attend mini-classes; and walk away with a better understanding of why College Prep might be a great fit for the student.

For the 2018-19 admission season, Open Houses will be held on:
  • Sunday, October 7, 2018
  • Saturday, October 27, 2018
  • Sunday, December 2, 2018
Parent Tours
Parent Tours allow parents and guardians to experience College Prep during a typical school morning and tour campus within a small group setting. Parents and guardians can ask questions about College Prep’s philosophy, curriculum, and offerings while guided by a member of the Admission Office. Parent Tours are open to parents and guardians only and are offered exclusively in the fall.
Student Visits
Our Student Visit program invites prospective applicants to experience College Prep firsthand. During a Student Visit, we match the prospective student with a current Prep student who will take the visitor to his or her classes. Student visitors are very likely to be invited to engage in class activities as if they were an actual College Prep student.
Student Visits begin in mid-September and conclude in early December. We are able to host student visitors for morning and afternoon visits on most days. Current applicants (current 8th, 9th, or 10th graders) are invited to visit us during a typical school day.
Equity and Inclusion Evening
As a dynamic and engaged learning community, we believe that excellence stems from our members’ diverse backgrounds and life experiences. In our everyday interactions, policies, practices, and programs, we aspire to be an inclusive school that lives its commitment to equity, empathy, cultural competence, and respect. Our Equity and Inclusion Evening invites prospective applicants and their families to learn how we carry out our mission to remain equitable and inclusive.

If you would like help figuring out which event(s) to attend, please give us a call! We’re happy to help you decide.
