A minimum of an A- during both semesters of chemistry is required to take AP Bio. Students who earned B+ grades in the fall or spring semester of Chemistry may seek permission of the instructor to gain admission to AP Biology; admission, however, is not guaranteed. Some summer work will be required prior to taking the course.
Rising seniors who want to take AP Biology should have a grade of B+ or better in the first semester of Biology. They also need to end the year with a B+ or better to be enrolled.
Must finish both semesters of Math 4 with a grade of B+ or better or Math 4i with a grade of B or better. Concurrent enrollment in AP Calculus (AB or BC) is also required. Variance from either guideline requires instructor permission before enrollment.
Students should have completed chemistry and be concurrently enrolled in or have also completed either Honors Biology or AP Biology. Those taking Oceanography in the fall will be given priority for enrolling in this course.
